This guitar was designed with and for Eric Deaton, a Hill Country Blues musician based in Oxford, Mississippi. He learned from the best, including Junior Kimbrough and R.L Burnside. The man has soul for days.
Eric was one of Oso's teachers at the Down 2 The Crossroads Guitar Camp in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He helped him record the song Easy to Love, Easy to Leave. He also taught him a lot about groove and playing in open tunings.
This guitar is has one .56 monster E powering to some grimy dirty tunes. Eric wanted something that only had one string and no frets. Oso worked with the fine folks at Shaper Tools to do a custom sound hole in the shape of the State of Mississippi.
Oso used a lengthwise mini-humbucker to give this guitar a really powerful tone. Oso loves this guitar because it sounds haunted (see video below). Oso can't wait to hear the amazing music that Eric comes up with on his soulbox.
